In 1881, the largest building West of the Mississippi opened on the soggy edge of a tenacious frontier town. For over eighty years, Denver Union Station bore witness to a procession of arrivals and departures that transformed the Rocky Mountain West. From 19th century regional gateway to 21st century multi-model hub, "Denver Union Station: Portal to Progress" tells the story of the grand era of railroad travel and the awe inspiring structure that stands today at the crossroads of past glory and future promise. Jim Havey has been making photographs and documentary films for over 30 years. After a seven-year career in Social Work, Jim started Havey Productions in Denver in 1979. His work has won numerous awards for excellence in a variety of creative services competitions for photography and filmmaking. Havey’s photographs appear in brochures, annual reports and advertising for a wide variety of corporate and not-for-profit clients nationwide. His unique documentary film style attracts a variety of projects from corporate image and fund raising to historical documentaries on subjects including Downtown Denver, Colfax Avenue, the State of Colorado, Four Mile Historic Park, Molly Brown, the City of Aspen and Denver Union Station. Havey Productions photos and film clips can be viewed at www.haveypro.com. |
