The Birth of a Rotarian...
on July 21, 2009 Jodi Brown joined Club 31!

Here is a sampling of what Jodi has accomplished in her first year as a Rotarian: She has enthusiastically supported the Branch Rickey Award Committee. In a specific example, Jodi and other new Rotarians had agreed to fill a table. She also agreed to work with the auction committee, to staff the auction sign-in and check out, as well as assist with the auction items input and year-end thank you letters. The auction responsibility completely prevented her from sitting at her table and enjoying the event night activities. Not deterred, she is back on the Branch Rickey Committee this year, acting as the committee secretary and assisting the Sales Committee with their prospect database, as well as working with the Auction Committee once again with item input. She also hosted a table at the May Denver Kids Breakfast and is pursuing becoming a DKI mentor. Jodi is active on the 2009/2010 TNTs New Member Class and has signed up to be a host to the International students and she has served as High School Sponsor this past year.

Jodi joined our Club in July 2009, has 70% attendance, and has supported our major fundraisers, as well as both of our foundations.

AND, she sponsored her first New Member! WOW! We can’t wait to see what Jodi accomplishes in her 2nd year!

Jodi is the owner of Studio T Furniture and was very surprised to receive this honor and so were her parents who attended our COG
luncheon with her.

At the July 1, 2010 Changing of the Guard Luncheon Cub 31 honored Dennis as Denver Rotary’s 2009/10’s Rotarian of the Year. Here is just a few of his past accomplishments and his continuing service to our Club:  Past Chair of the High School Scholarship Committee for two years; served on the Branch Rickey Auctions Committee for several years; member of the DRCF Grants Committee for three years; served on the RI Programs and Social Activities Committee; served on the Youth Exchange Committee as a host family for exchange students of our Club; his company has been a table sponsor of the Branch Rickey Award, as well as a contributor to our silent auction; he has served on the New Members Orientation Committee for the past several years, coordinating the schedule and reminder notices to our new members and presenters; served on the Club’s Board of Directors as our Club’s Treasurer for 4 years and implemented a new, comprehensive budgeting process; he sponsored our Club’s Incoming President Elect and Treasurer for membership; he is a leader in his industry and has served on several boards, including the Ronald McDonald House.

Dennis has been a Denver Rotarian for 20 years, with perfect attendance for the past 5 years. He is a Paul Harris +1 Fellow and a Denver Rotary Foundation Fellow, and is an annual contributor to both our Foundation and our Club’s major fundraisers. To quote one of Dennis’s nominators “This Rotarian is willing to put in committed, dependable and behind-the-scenes work with seeking the limelight for himself.”
